Julie Simon - Co-Creator

 Julie’s work at the intersection of leadership, personal development, community engagement and social change spans over 20 years across the private, public and non-profit sectors. As a coach and facilitator, Julie supports individuals and groups to improve self and situational awareness in times of rapid growth and transition. She brings an equity lens and liberatory approach to her leadership coaching. She cultivates a sense of belonging and supports people to show up in their lives with radical presence. Julie’s experience of coaching in organizations includes New York Care, NYC Department of Education, NYC Economic Development Corporation, Civic Hall, tech start-ups, and NYU. Julie has trained with Race Forward, Interaction Institute for Social Change, Training for Change’s Whites Confronting Racism and CoreAlign on building racial equity and facilitating racial justice conversations. She also works with SURJ’s NYC chapter in facilitating “Calling In” workshops for white allies. Julie also designs and leads workshops on navigating loss and grief – core components of transformational change for individuals, organizations, and the collective. Julie served as Board Chair for The Laundromat Project - a nonprofit social impact and community organizing arts organization. Prior to coaching, Julie worked for the New York City Economic Development Corporation as an urban planner where she designed, led and facilitated long-term community planning and visioning processes, advocated for equitable development and led recovery and resiliency efforts in the neighborhoods hardest hit by Superstorm Sandy. Her career began in health care consulting where she worked to expand patient access to novel medical therapies and devices and advocate for their comprehensive coverage with private and public insurers. Julie holds a BA in Urban Studies from Haverford College and a Master’s in Urban Planning from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. She is a credentialed and Certified Professional Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and received her training through Leadership That Works’ Coaching for Transformation
